Upcoming Lessons at VGO
Lessons at Village Gallery Originals are ongoing, and we will be starting up new sessions in March. Our new venue is under construction and we will be offering children’s classes as well.
All courses include everything you need to complete finished works in-class. Class sizes are limited and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to book your spot in advance. All courses are six weeks in length and run for 3 hours per session.
We have designed our courses so that the student doesn’t have to go out and buy hundreds of dollars in materials to take a course. All items needed to participate and complete one finished painting will be supplied in the material fee, including paint, canvas, paper, brushes, gesso, mediums, and reference materials. Additional materials will be available for purchase for students who wish to use them on their own time after class work is completed, or at home after the course is finished.
We ask that all painting students bring a few water containers, such as margarine tubs, a smock or old clothing, a sense of humor and a willingness to learn. Small classes guarantee one-on-one attention and help when needed. Class size is limited to 8 students per course. A minimum of 4 students are needed for a class to run.
To reserve your spot and attend class, we require that all fees be paid in advance. Class fees are $150 plus $60 for materials plus HST. We accept Visa, Mastercard. Students will be allowed ONE makeup class for any missed sessions, which will be rescheduled at a time that is convenient for both the student and instructor.
Courses will be taught by Debra Jackson, an internationally recognized and published artist, and instructor. Debra has been exhibiting her work for nearly 20 years in art venues and galleries, and has taught in the summer at the Haliburton School of Fine Art. Feel free to contact her about any questions regarding the courses.
