Tracey Lee Green
As a Metal artist, I feel a strong ancestral connection to our earth. My work speaks of our interaction with the earth and each other. I find inspiration with our lives, our symbols, our collections, our gatherings and how we fit into the larger picture. One can always find the mark of man in my work. I like flexibility, texture and tactility with an impressionistic and loose approach to my pieces. I paint predominantly in acrylics, enjoying the ability to collage pieces together or add texture using different tools and mediums. I have an intuitive and spontaneous approach to my work. I let happy accidents happen and incorporate them into the final piece.
I am a Graduate of Sir Sandford Fleming school of the Arts, a Board Member for the Haliburton Arts Council, the Founder of Canada’s Premier Plein-Air Arts Festival “A Brush with the Highlands” and the recipient of many grants, awards and bursaries for my studies and work. I share my passion for art with my partner Daryl Sands, an artist blacksmith. Together we combine inspiration and tension to fuel each others creativity.
