Ian Bodnaryk

Ian Bodnaryk was raised in Port Perry, Ontario, Canada. As a young boy, Ian spent much of his time at his family cottage on Lower Buckhorn Lake. During his time there, he learned to appreciate the local wildlife and their habitat. Ian spent many hours watching, sketching and learning about the creatures that he loved. Without knowing it, Ian was building the essential skills it would take to become a great wildlife artist.

Ian is a self-taught artist who has been painting for over fifteen years. He continues to learn with each new painting. He finds each new lesson to be a challenging, fun and enlightening experience.

Ian’s artwork is a reflection of his love for the remarkable beauty of the environment and the creatures that inhabit it. Ian believes that his role as a wildlife artist is to portray his subject in a way that will educate the viewer. He also hopes to encourage him or her to appreciate his subject whether great or small.

Ian continues to donate proceeds from artwork to organizations such as World Wildlife Fund. He continuously advocates for environmental causes and educates people about the natural world. He believes that knowledge is power, and feels the more people know about nature the more they will want to protect it.

Ian’s artwork has been purchased internationally and can be found in several private collections around the world.

Today, Ian lives in Orono, Ontario, where he continues his fascination with art and the natural world.
