Elizabeth McBride-Thornington
Born in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada is where it all began. Her love for nature and wildlife began at a very early age: sketching and painting was inevitable. Self-taught, she is equally proficient with acrylics, graphite, oils and watercolours. In 1994 she fully devoted herself to her art, when she traded in her briefcase and high heels for brushes, canvas and comfortable sandals. Since joining the Professional Art Circuit, her work has reached universal appeal and is appreciated by young and old alike throughout Ontario, British Columbia, the United States and overseas.
Elizabeth puts a great deal of talent, energy and enthusiasm into her work. Her attention to detail is truly outstanding, achieving the visual illusion of three dimensions, where you, as the viewer are taken into the paintings, to walk through the door, smell the sweet fragrance of the blooms, hear the song of the bird, or stroke the fur of the animals.
While traveling with husband Donald, enjoying the adventure of local parks, various zoos and even the wonderment of their gardens, Elizabeth acquires endless sources of inspiration. At this point in her life, there seems to be no limit to how far her talents, dreams and art may take her.
