Bill Lewochko
Bill Lewochko has proven his mastery of several mediums. His work in Oil and Acrylic, watercolour, and scraperboard concentrates on the effects of light and shadow with special attention to detail. The desire to establish an imaginative and realistic effect, demands intense research for each piece of work. Encompassing a wide variety of subject matter, Bill’s art portrays a dramatic and powerful image which is captivating and compelling.
Bill started painting at an early age. His interest over the years in all aspects of art, has led to his involvement in the development of the visual arts throughout the region in which he resided. Bill was one of the founders of the Society of York Region Artists (SOYRA) and was President and on the Board of Directors for several years. He is also a founding member of The Brighton Arts Council. Bill has been directly involved with the organization of many visual arts events and has acted as a liaison with several municipalities assisting in the planning of major exhibits. Bill is also involved in the development of various Trivia and Board games and acted as an artistic liaison and producer of the television production “The Reel to Reel Picture Show”, which was filmed at Disney MGM Studios and Universal Studios in Orlando Florida.
Bill’s award-winning works are displayed in galleries, and in juried art exhibits, as well as in corporate and private collections in Canada, the U.S.A. and the U.K. Bill Lewochko believes that in order to create exciting and original work, an artist must continually challenge himself. “To grow as an artist, my works have to reflect change. When I create a new piece of work I am giving a personal expression of myself and I hope this feeling will evoke an emotional response in others”.
